Teaching Quote of Today

Hello Everyone! I am happy to share this class with you. I live in Hanford, California with my husband Rick and Dog Luna. I have a married son, Alex, 24.8 years old:)

I worked as a para educator for ten years and earned a BA in Social Science. I began a Master's History program at CSU Long Beach but have chosen to complete my credentialing before returning to that goal.

I took the personality tests from both sites and I found myself dubbed both a INFP and a INTP respectively. It just goes to show that how we are reflected is dependent on the context of how we are viewed (or tested). Which brings me to contemplate how true that is in regard to how we present knowledge to our students as well as how we assess it.The tests reflect me as an introspective person who enjoys the company of other humans and I am an ideological leader. As a teacher, I have the ability to both focus students on content and excite them about the act and the art of discovery.

I LOVE History and as a teacher I want to introduce students to all the ways they can find their own personal context in history. I plan to use project learning a great deal because, besides being a great way to learn, I think the study of history is a hands on learning event..

At the moment I am a guest teacher for Kings County. The experience of teaching a variety of students of all grades, classrooms, and situations is a gift that is preparing me for both student teaching and professional.

I am excited about this class. Enjoy my blog, I am enjoying yours!
